This fund was created in memory of Alton C Brown 86’, a longtime member of Kingston College Old Boys Association USA Inc’s Board (KCOBA NY).

Following Alton’s passing in December 2024, The Brown Family and KCOBA NY Board established the Alton C Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor his legacy. Alton was a finance executive with over a 25 year career working with financial services firms including JP Morgan Chase, BNY Mellon, Citco and others. As a KCOBA NY Board member (over a decade), Alton served in several roles including, Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Director and also cherished spending time with family and friends in the New York Tri-state area and Jamaica. While serving on the KCOBA NY and other community nonprofit boards, Alton quickly became known as an event organizer, chef, mentor, and coach to many colleagues and aspiring students. He pursued community service through joining school boards, community organizations, and served on the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at his daughter Sydney’s school. Alton’s passing has left a great void in the Brown Family, his friends and the Kingston College Community. The Alton C Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund will award scholarships to students from Kingston College who demonstrate their ability to lead, serve, and act with authenticity and humility. The funds being awarded have been graciously donated by friends, family, and supporters. It is our hope that the amount we are able to award continues to grow over time as necessary support for young and future leaders from Kingston College and the Community.
