Sports more than any other event occurring at Kingston College unites our fraternity. Those of my generation, the 1960’s and 1970’s believe that Champs is ours and we must guard and protect that legacy by all legitimate means necessary. Unfortunately, this same ownership cannot be applied to football. Actually it has been over twenty years since we have held the Manning Cup. Our summer football training program is not adequately funded. The teams are often without gears and under-nourished. This lack of commitment is reflected in their fall performance.
The College is also the defending champions at basketball and table tennis and we compete in cricket, hockey, rugby, swimming, tennis, volleyball. The guys who play chess and the defending champion School Challenge team may also want you to believe that they are athletes.
